Nordlaks Holding AS, owned 100% by Inge Berg, is a vertically integrated company in the salmon farming sector since it holds control over all the steps in the value chain for farmed Atlantic salmon.

Technology has a very high impact on the rate of efficiency, and the labour needs of the farm. The automation and mechanisation of the production process is very advanced. Nordlaks Products AS invested more than 6 million Euros in technology in 2001.

Due to national and EU-regulations it is difficult to have a lot of visitors. At the fish processing plant special facilities have been built to make it easier for visitors to watch the production process through windows from outside of the production hall.

The owner and director Inge Berg mainly works with the strategic part of the business. This includes contact with the market, the authorities, acquisition of new plants and farms, and long term development of the business. He also has close contact with the managers in the daughter companies and on the different farms. He is concerned with planning and supervising new development projects for the business. The busiest part of the year is the autumn when most of the fish are slaughtered, processed and sold.
