Fry rearing is the most important stage of fish farming since it largely determines the overall results of the fish culture. Trout larvae must be transferred from the incubation vials to rearing tanks when about three quarters of the yolk sac has been absorbed and the larvae become mobile. In this period, the juveniles learn to feed actively. Tanks used for larval rearing should be small (1-25 m2), enabling exertion of control over the larvae’s health, and ensuring adequate supply of food.
